Puri first Vande Bharat Express train was inaugurated on 18 May 2023 between Puri and Howrah Junction. This was the first Vande Bharat Express which directly connected Odisha and West Bengal. Puri's first Vande Bharat Express was also the first Vande Bharat Express for Odisha and the second Vande Bharat Express for West Bengal.
